All dogs deserve solid foundation training. Healthy relationships rely on clear communication, and by improving our methods of communication with our dogs, we can provide them with happier, more well balanced lives. The Summit K9 training philosophy is based on the principle that truly reliable behaviors can only be achieved after building strong foundation of motivation, communication, clarity, and consistency.
All Summit K9 trainers are required to have a deep understanding of canine learning theory and are always pursuing continued education in training and handling. We are committed to exploring a wide range of methods, techniques, and tools to help our clients achieve their full potential with their canine companions. We specialize in improving leash walking, establishing off-leash reliability, developing polite social skills, and generating calm behavior in the home.

Dogs enrolled in this program will spend the week building skills at the Summit K9 facility, and return home for practice with their owners for weekends!

Private Training
The curriculum for our Private Training program is highly individualized based on the owner's goals and dog’s behavioral needs. Private training packages for new clients must be preceded by a Training Consultation to ensure that this program is the correct match for the client's goals and in order to assist our trainers in creating a personalized base training plan to ensure optimal results.
Though this program is a great fit for dog owners seeking assistance in addressing specific problems and efficiently achieving their specific training goals, it still follows our holistic approach to shaping behavior. Our early classes will be focused on setting the dog up for success, creating management protocols to prevent the practice of bad habits as we work through the training plan, and building strong foundation skills that will be used to create long term behavior change (no band-aid solutions here!). Once we have a solid foundation of communication skills and trained behaviors, we will integrate these fundamentals into efficiently tackling problem behaviors and generating reliable and lasting real world skills.
New clients will be required to register for a minimum of 3 private training sessions, to be completed weekly over consecutive weeks. Once a client has completed a full program with Summit K9, they may be eligible for standalone private lessons in order to maintain their dog's behavior, continue their training progress, or begin working towards new behavior goals!

Hybrid Board & Train Program
The Summit K9 Board & Train program is designed to jumpstart your dog’s training journey by building strong foundations in house manners, calmness, obedience, and leash skills. Our hybrid program combines intensive weekday training at our facility with structured owner practice at home, ensuring both you and your dog learn the skills needed for lasting success. Dogs in the 4-week program also gain foundations for off-leash reliability and safe socialization with new people and dogs.
How it works:
This is a hybrid program. Before your dog’s boarding begins, you’ll complete two weeks of our Board & Train Online Course, designed to give you essential knowledge and exercises to prepare both you and your dog for the intensive training ahead. Once boarding starts, dogs are dropped off on Monday mornings and picked up Friday evenings. During the week, they receive personalized training; over the weekend, owners complete guided homework with their dog to reinforce progress.
At the end of the boarding phase, owners participate in a comprehensive go-home lesson to transfer skills, followed by additional lessons and ongoing support to ensure training sticks. Graduates also enjoy free enrollment in group practice classes and discounted group training and daycare services, making long-term success more achievable.
This program is a head start—not a shortcut. Dogs return home with new skills and structure, but owner participation is essential. With the combination of expert trainer guidance, structured online learning, and hands-on practice, you’ll gain the tools and confidence to maintain your dog’s training for life.

Enroll in our Hybrid Board & Train services for a full behavior makeover. Head start your dog's training and manners or smooth out existing training for increased reliability! Our 2-week and 3-week programs focuses on building strong on-leash skills and basic manners, while our 4 week program introduces off-leash obedience foundations and public access skills.

Open to dogs 6 months or older
Dogs MUST be potty trained before enrollment in this program.
*Please note that off-leash obedience, public access work, and socialization work is dependent on dog aptitude and behavior. For most dogs in the 4 week program, socialization and public access practice will be appropriate, however, dogs with significant problem behaviors such as reactivity, aggression, fearfulness, etc. may need more than 4 weeks to transition to these advanced skills.
