All dogs deserve solid foundation training. Healthy relationships rely on clear communication, and by improving our methods of communication with our dogs, we can provide them with happier, more well balanced lives. The Summit K9 training philosophy is based on the principle that truly reliable behaviors can only be achieved after building strong foundation of motivation, communication, clarity, and consistency.
All Summit K9 trainers are required to have a deep understanding of canine learning theory and are always pursuing continued education in training and handling. We are committed to exploring a wide range of methods, techniques, and tools to help our clients achieve their full potential with their canine companions. We specialize in improving leash walking, establishing off-leash reliability, developing polite social skills, and generating calm behavior in the home.

Dogs enrolled in this program will spend the week building skills at the Summit K9 facility, and return home for practice with their owners for weekends!

Private Training
The curriculum for our Private Training program is highly individualized based on the owner's goals and dog’s behavioral needs. Private training packages for new clients must be preceded by a Training Consultation to ensure that this program is the correct match for the client's goals and in order to assist our trainers in creating a personalized base training plan to ensure optimal results.
Though this program is a great fit for dog owners seeking assistance in addressing specific problems and efficiently achieving their specific training goals, it still follows our holistic approach to shaping behavior. Our early classes will be focused on setting the dog up for success, creating management protocols to prevent the practice of bad habits as we work through the training plan, and building strong foundation skills that will be used to create long term behavior change (no band-aid solutions here!). Once we have a solid foundation of communication skills and trained behaviors, we will integrate these fundamentals into efficiently tackling problem behaviors and generating reliable and lasting real world skills.
New clients will be required to register for a minimum of 3 private training sessions, to be completed weekly over consecutive weeks. Once a client has completed a full program with Summit K9, they may be eligible for standalone private lessons in order to maintain their dog's behavior, continue their training progress, or begin working towards new behavior goals!

Hybrid Board & Train Program
The Summit K9 Hybrid Board & Train Program is designed to give your dog a powerful head start in training while equipping you with the knowledge and skills to maintain results for life. Through a unique combination of weekday immersive training, structured owner education, and guided at-home practice, this program builds reliable obedience, calmness, manners, and leash skills in a way that transfers seamlessly into real-world living. Rather than simply training your dog for you, we coach both ends of the leash, creating lasting results, clear communication, and a stronger partnership between you and your dog.
How it works:
Our hybrid program is intentionally designed to deliver real, lasting results by training both ends of the leash. Before boarding begins, you’ll complete two weeks of online coursework to prepare your you and your dog for the boarding portion of the program.
Once your dog’s stay starts, they’ll work with our trainers Monday through Friday in personalized sessions focused on building reliable skills and clear communication while you complete weekly modules in the SK9 Board & Train Online Course. On weekends, your dog comes home so you can practice guided exercises together, allowing you to learn alongside your dog and reinforce progress in day-to-day situations with you.
At the end of the program, we’ll guide you through a comprehensive go-home lesson to transfer skills, strengthen your confidence, and ensure you’re fully prepared to maintain and build on your dog’s results. Continued support and practice opportunities are included so progress doesn’t stop when the program ends!

Open to dogs 6 months or older
Dogs MUST be potty trained before enrollment in this program.
*Please note that off-leash obedience, public access work, and socialization work is dependent on dog aptitude and behavior. For most dogs in the 4 week program, socialization and public access practice will be appropriate, however, dogs with significant problem behaviors such as reactivity, aggression, fearfulness, etc. may need more than 4 weeks to transition to these advanced skills.
