Training Programs
All dogs deserve solid foundation training. Healthy relationships rely on clear communication, and by improving our methods of communication with our dogs, we can provide them with happier, more well balanced lives. The Summit K9 training philosophy is based on the principle that truly reliable behaviors can only be achieved after building strong foundation of motivation, communication, clarity, and consistency.
All Summit K9 trainers are required to have a deep understanding of canine learning theory and are always pursuing continued education in training and handling. We are committed to exploring a wide range of methods, techniques, and tools to help our clients achieve their full potential with their canine companions. We specialize in improving leash walking, establishing off-leash reliability, developing polite social skills, and generating calm behavior in the home.

Board & Train
Multi-week programs that fast track your dog's progress towards a happier, healthier, more well mannered life with you! Dogs enrolled in this program will receive intensive and holistic training to build a rock solid behavioral foundation, solidify off leash obedience, or troubleshoot problem behaviors.

Private Training
The curriculum for our Private Training program is highly individualized based on the owner's goals and dog’s behavioral needs. Private training packages for new clients must be preceded by a Training Consultation to ensure that this program is the correct match for the client's goals and in order to assist our trainers in creating a personalized base training plan to ensure optimal results.
Though this program is a great fit for dog owners seeking assistance in addressing specific problems and efficiently achieving their specific training goals, it still follows our holistic approach to shaping behavior. Our early classes will be focused on setting the dog up for success, creating management protocols to prevent the practice of bad habits as we work through the training plan, and building strong foundation skills that will be used to create long term behavior change (no band-aid solutions here!). Once we have a solid foundation of communication skills and trained behaviors, we will integrate these fundamentals into efficiently tackling problem behaviors and generating reliable and lasting real world skills.
New clients will be required to register for a minimum of 3 private training sessions, to be completed weekly over consecutive weeks. Once a client has completed a full program with Summit K9, they may be eligible for standalone private lessons in order to maintain their dog's behavior, continue their training progress, or begin working towards new behavior goals!

Board & Train Programs
The Summit K9 Board & Train program is specifically designed to lay the foundations for your ideal dog! Throughout their stay, your dog will receive extensive one-on-one training to build the skills necessary to ensure proper house manners, general calmness, basic obedience, and leash skills. Dogs enrolled in our 4-week program will also build essential skills for off-leash reliability and safe socialization with other dogs and new people.
This program is specifically formulated to assist you in learning to implement a holistic training system with your dog that will yield optimal results. Dogs in this program will be conditioned to very consistent structure, streamlining their transition back into your home. Owners participating in this program must commit to utilizing a crate in their home regularly and continuing to maintain their dog's training after the completion of their boarding program in order to enjoy the highest degree of long term success.
During their stay, your dog will be given the highest quality care and attention. Dogs will be handled by our team of skilled trainers and apprentices, which generalizes conditioned skills to multiple people (not just a primary trainer), and you will receive frequent video and photo updates communicating your dog’s progress. Transparency is extremely important to us, and you will be notified of any problems or concerns immediately if such occurrences arise. Throughout the day, your dog will receive structured training, plenty of exercise (both mental and physical), and outdoor play sessions with our trainers.
Summit K9 board and train programming is a head start program. Our programs focus heavily on including significant owner education to ensure that participants enjoy lasting results and continued progress long after their programs are completed. Owners who have completed the boarding portion of the program will enjoy multiple follow up lessons included in their packages, discounted applicable group lessons, and free enrollment in our group skills practice classes in order to solidify their training for the long haul!
We offer a small range of Board & Train options, geared towards dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and abilities. Though most Board & Train options offer a traditional format, we also offer a hybrid program, during which dogs go home on the weekends, allowing owners to practice key skills alongside their dogs through the training process.
Owners interested in registering for a Board & Train program must first complete a Behavior Consultation ($50) in order to discuss their goals and ensure that they are enrolling in the ideal program to meet their needs!

Our 2-week Jumpstart program focuses on building strong on-leash skills and basic manners, while our 3 and 4 week programs introduce off-leash obedience foundations and public access skills.

* 25% off Bomb Proof Base or Puppy Head Start group classes
